A Disastrous First Half

Qatar completely failed to survive the World Cup group stage. Bosnia eliminated the Asian champions with a 3-1 victory today. Qatar surrendered two quick goals early in the first half. Kerim Alajbegovic thrashed a brilliant shot past the goalkeeper. Mahmoud Abunada then scored a tragic, humiliating own goal.

A Fleeting Hope

The Qatari defense collapsed under heavy Bosnian pressure. Hassan Al Haydos scored a desperate goal to revive hopes. However, Al Haydos suffered a serious injury shortly after. Pedro Miguel missed a massive chance to tie the match. He smashed a brilliant effort completely over the crossbar.
